Project Overview
DualTech Conseil was engaged to provide independent FAT witnessing for the 400kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) intended for the AL DORA and AL FALLUJA 400kV substation project. Our role was to verify assembly quality, witness high-voltage tests, and confirm compliance with the applicable IEC standards on behalf of the project owner.
Scope of Inspection
- Visual and dimensional inspection of GIS bays, enclosures and breaker panels
- Verification of assembly tolerances and gas-tightness
- Witnessing of dielectric tests, insulation resistance and functional tests
- High-voltage bushing test witnessing
- Review of test protocols, calibration certificates and manufacturer documentation
- FAT report issuance with photographic evidence
Standards Applied
- IEC 62271-203 — Gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear for rated voltages above 52 kV
- IEC 62271-100 — High-voltage alternating-current circuit-breakers
- IEC 60137 — Insulated bushings for alternating voltages above 1000 V
Result
All critical hold points were witnessed and documented. The GIS passed all electrical tests and was released for shipment. A comprehensive FAT report with test records, photographic evidence and a final release recommendation was issued.
